The Learning Management System at NICT UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta doesn’t have a computerized system, so the process of managing the courses programs is still carried out manually and hasn’t been effective and efficient. It takes a long time to create a course, difficult to manage and store data of all courses and participants, difficulty in integrating social learning experiences, and time and location constraints.
This research aims to develop a learning management system (LMS) software application to assist NICT UIN with creating, delivering, and tracking online learning and provide a virtual environment where students can get access to a range of online courses.
For the development of this system, the writer used the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology. As-Is modeling, To-Be modeling, and PIECES to analyze the system and System process design are described through the use of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams using UML (Unified Modelling Language).
The significant benefits of this software application are that it simplified the computerization process of course programs, saves administration time, and manages and stores data of courses and participants. This research resulted in the development of a web-based software application of the Learning Management System to help NICT to create, digitalize, promote, and manage online courses in a virtual environment.
